Friday, March 6, 2015, at the Child Research and Documentation Center “The Bottle of Geppetto” of San Miniato, ongoing activities in the filed of environmental education, perspectives and planning for the next school year are being discussed.
GIOCONDA is in the foreground, and it has been proposed to extend the membership to all four Municipalities to make the most of this year’s experience in San Miniato, with first and second grade secondary schools. The proposal could be to extend the experience also to children of the primary schools that very active in the area in the field of environmental education.
Just in the primary schools begins the pilot period of the participatory research promoted under the aegis of the European REPOPA project, which will measure the psychophysical health of a sample of school children carrying out the PEDIBUS project. Both GIOCONDA and REPOPA / PEDIBUS research are coordinated by IFC-CNR in Pisa.
The meeting was attended by Councilors for the Environment and Education of the four municipalities in the lower Valdarno area: San Miniato, Santa Croce sull’Arno, Castelfranco di Sotto, Montopoli in Val d’Arno, the Director of the Society of Health, the entertainters of the Regional Environmental Education Center of Lower Valdarno, C.E.A., of the competent ASL of Empoli and of IFC-CNR.
